Dr. HeeRak Kang believes in a holistic approach to patient care with a focus on both function and quality of life. He specializes in diagnosing and treating chronic pain conditions using advanced, minimally invasive techniques under image guidance (fluoroscopy).
Dr. Kang was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to Fairfax, Virginia as a child. Dr. Kang graduated with honors from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and earned a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He worked at Welch Allyn (Hill-Rom) as an engineer for nine years before switching careers to medicine after a death in the family.
He attended medical school at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University and completed his medical residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation there, where he served as Chief Resident. He also completed his fellowship training in Interventional Pain Medicine at SUNY Upstate. Dr. Kang worked as an assistant professor in Syracuse, NY before moving to Las Vegas.
During his spare time, Dr. Kang enjoys skiing, traveling and camping with his wife, children and Boston terrier (Frida).
