Colin Rock, MD spent most of his childhood and early adult life in Minnesota. It was at the University of Minnesota that he graduated with distinction with a B.S. in Biochemistry. During his undergraduate years he spent multiple summers performing research at the Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota. He has been published in multiple medical journals in the fields of orthopedic and general surgery. Upon completion of undergraduate studies, he went to medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He stayed at Northwestern for his intern year of residency where he focused in general surgery. He then went on to his anesthesiology residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he was awarded the Resident Award for Academic Excellence in his graduating class. He subsequently ended his training by completing a Pain Medicine fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Rock emphasizes clinical based medicine by staying up-to-date on the current research and clinical studies. He also incorporates a multidisciplinary approach by consulting with colleagues in the fields of neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, rheumatology, psychology and more. He emphasizes traditional, interventional, pharmacological and complementary therapies in order to treat the entire body, not just the main pain complaint.
Leon Perel, MD has resided in Las Vegas since 2013. He was born in Brazil and moved to New York City with his family during High School. Dr. Perel graduated with highest honors from Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with concentration in Neurobiology, Behavior and Economics. He then attended medical school at State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine where he graduated with recommendation in research. He completed his Residency in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at George Washington University in Washington, DC and obtained his Fellowship training in Interventional Pain Medicine from John Hopkins University.
Throughout his medical career, he was awarded for excellence, research and teaching. Upon completion of his training, he moved to Las Vegas with his family and has enjoyed being part of the Nevada Comprehensive Pain Center family since. Dr. Perel specializes in spine pain in the setting of arthritis with special interest in the aging population. His personal goal is to continue to address chronic pain needs in the local population.
Originally from Los Angeles, Dr. Parikh is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the spine, musculoskeletal system and other pain conditions. His clinical focus combines evidence-based treatments, rehabilitative approaches to pain, and interventional procedures to manage complex pain cases.
After graduating from medical school with honors, Dr. Parikh began his training by completing a surgical internship at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan, New York and stayed on to complete a postdoctoral research fellowship where he became published in a number of medical journals.
Dr. Parikh then completed his residency in PM&R at the SUNY Upstate Medical University, and was given the distinguished honor of serving his last year as Chief Resident. He is Board certified by the American Board of PM&R.
Later, he continued at the SUNY Upstate Medical University to complete his sub-specialty fellowship training in interventional spine and pain management.
Dr. Parikh is a compassionate physician and is seeing patients at our Flamingo Campus.

Dr. Coppel has resided in Las Vegas since 2006. He was born in Mexico and later moved to Tuscon, Arizona with his family. Dr. Coppel graduated with honors from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. He earned his medical degree in 1996 from the University of Arizona School of Medicine. He then moved on to complete a one year medical internship at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. His residency in Anesthesiology and Critical Care was done at the University of Chicago Medical Center in 2005. Lastly, he sub-specialized in the field of pain medicine by completing an interventional spine and pain management fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 2006.
Dr. Coppel is Board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialist in the fields of Anesthesiology with Critical Care and Pain Medicine. Since establishing his practice in Las Vegas in 2006, Dr. Coppel has been proud to be one of the first physicians that utilized a multidisciplinary approach to the management of painful medical conditions. This multidisciplinary approach has allowed him to achieve success in patients where others have failed.
While doing his medical training at the University of Chicago Medical Center and Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Coppel had instilled in himself the love of learning. Since arriving in Las Vegas he has sought out and received additional training in Addiction Medicine and as an Independent Medical Examiner. Dr. Coppel is the only physician in the state of Nevada that is trained in the specialties of Pain Management, Anesthesiology and Critical Care, Addiction Medicine, and as an Independent Medical Examiner.
Through his collaborations with Johns Hopkins University he has helped publish numerous journal articles on topics regarding pain medicine and interventional procedures. His outgoing personality and wealth of knowledge has also made him a sought out lecturer at local, national, and international scientific meetings. His continued dedication to the advancement of the field of pain management has made him a leader among his peers locally, nationally and internationally.
On a personal note, Dr. Coppel has been very active in a variety of community outreach programs that have helped provide medical care to underserved areas in Nevada. Given his Hispanic heritage and the fact that he is fluent in Spanish, he has been particularly interested in serving the Hispanic community. He is the founder and current president of the Nevada Latin American Medical Association. As the founder and current president, he has helped coordinate community health fairs, school outreach programs, and scholarship programs for the Hispanic community.
