John De Guzman is a Nationally Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in pain management. He also has extensive experience in emergency medicine and has trained in Sydney Australia. He completed his master’s degree in Family Nurse Practitioner, at Touro University. His additional experience in medical and surgical patient care helped him see the need to ensure pain control is provided to support optimal patient treatment. As he has continued his training, he has further specialized in providing multi-modal pain management to help patients control both acute and chronic pain. He has seen that the best pain control and outcomes are in patients who implement multiple modalities concomitantly, physical therapy, interventional procedures, lifestyle changes, non-opioid medications therapy, and if necessary, opioid medication therapy. Taking an individual approach to every patient is important to ensure optimal outcomes.
