Dr. Andrew Kelner has joined NVCPC to practice at our North Las Vegas location. He originates from the East Coast, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology, and worked for a preclinical research organization assisting in pharmaceutical research and development. Incorporating a multidisciplinary approach to managing pain, which includes medications, interventions, complementary therapies, and partnering with other specialists, is at the foundation of Dr. Kelner’s approach to creating a thorough treatment plan.
Ethel Smith, FNP-C is a Certified Nurse Practitioner who graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Master’s in Science in Nursing. Dr. Grant Karno was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated from the University of California, Davis, (UC Davis), followed by completion of preliminary training in General and Trauma Surgery at a UCLA affiliated hospital. Dr Karno’s resume includes serving as an attending physician at SUNY Upstate University Hospital, and Syracuse VA Medical Hospital in New York.
Dr. Isaac Jenabi was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He earned his Medical Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. After being accepted to the world-renowned University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), he completed his residency in Anesthesiology and fellowship in interventional pain management.
Leon Perel, MD has resided in Las Vegas since 2013. Dr. Perel was born in Brazil and moved to New York City in 1996 with his family. He then attended medical school at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. He completed his Residency in Anesthesia and Critical Care at George Washington University, in Washington, DC and obtained his Fellowship training in Interventional Pain Medicine from Johns Hopkins University.
Shawna Tibbetts graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in pre-med and Health Education. She received her post graduate physician assistant training at Western University of Health Sciences graduating at the top of her class. Melissa is an experienced health care leader, with over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, specializing in human capital, insurance contract negations, capital acquisitions, and clinical operations. Her leadership has directly contributed to NVCPC becoming largest pain management group in the state of Nevada.
Dr. Carolina Issa joined Nevada Comprehensive Pain Center in 2015, as the Director of Clinical Operations. Originally trained as a medical doctor and clinical researcher, she brings significant operational experience to the Executive Team.
Dr. Julie Woodward was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2016, with oversight of the company’s end-to-end operational delivery. In her role, she ensures succinct organization management, performance enhancement, strategic vision, and companywide business growth efforts.
